Edward Smyth is a British filmmaker, curious to explore the most beautiful and peculiar things in life. 

Recently, he was commissioned by the BBC and the Institute of Contemporary Arts [ICA], to create ‘Wave 3 (Cancelled?)’, which premiered at the BFI Southbank in 2022.

His films have screened at major London venues, including BFI Southbank, Barbican Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, ICA & Curzon Soho; with six selected for the BAFTA-recognised London Short Film Festival.

Into 2024, he’s developing several projects for TV & Film, ranging from satirical comedies, romantic fiction, to experimental drama; including his first features.

Alumnus of BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew.
